Qualifications & Evaluations
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be proficient in spoken and written English.
- Degree of doctor of medicine or equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Current, full, unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine is required.
- Board Eligibility or Certification in Geriatrics or Palliative Medicine is preferred.
- Qualificati! on for a faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level or higher at a University and academic experience is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS USED: VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G-2, Physician Qualification Standard. This can be found in the local Human Resources Office.
